AHA BLS Instructor Recertification Workshop

The AHA BLS Instructor Recertification Workshop is intended for current AHA instructors affiliated with McGregor EMS. This program will meet AHA requirements for instruction observation time. Workshops are facilitated by the TCC or Training Center Faculty.

Each participant is required to teach a segment of the BLS discipline.

  • Advances in Manikins and Equipment
  • Review of required policies

  • Segment Instruction

Candidates who complete this course and meet all AHA requirements will be recertified as an AHA BLS Instructor.

AHA Heartsaver Instructor Recertification Workshop

The AHA Heartsaver Instructor Recertification Workshop is intended for current AHA instructors affiliated with McGregor EMS. This program will meet AHA requirements for instruction observation time. Workshops are facilitated by the TCC or Training Center Faculty.

Each participant is required to teach a segment of the Heartsaver discipline.

Candidates who complete this course and meet all AHA requirements will be recertified as an AHA Heartsaver Instructor.

This course is designed to certify individuals who are looking to, or already babysit. The minimum age requirement for this course is 11 years old.  Upon completion of this class individuals will receive a CPR and First Aid certification. 

Course Content:

  • Safety

  • How to handle emergencies

  • Care and feeding of infants and children

  • CPR and First Aid training

  • Business aspects of being a babysitter

All students will receive a Babysitting Certification upon completion. Course encompasses a 5-hour agenda, so students should bring a snack, drink and lunch. Participants will be with the instructor for the entire duration of time. Students should also have parent contact information.  

Note: CPR Certification is valid for two years

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings 6:30-10:00pm beginning on January 27th, 2025 and ending on April 30th, 2025

The New Hampshire Scope of Practice Module will be included during the class.

 

Where

All classes will be held at the University of New Hampshire campus in Durham, NH unless other arrangements are needed due to COVID-19. Please note: McGregor requires that students either; provide proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination or provide a negative COVID test each week while in attendance. The registration form will ask for you to upload a picture of your COVID-19 vaccination record.  Classes will be held at:

Tuition

$1550 without CPR Course

OR

$1625 with CPR Course

 

$275 deposit due at the time of registration, full tuition due by January 20th. Flexible payment plans are available. For more information please email classes@mcgregorems.org.

Note: Tuition (including NH Scope of Practice module), required textbook, online platform access, and lab materials are covered by course cost. Certification testing, CPR, optional textbooks, and certification fees are NOT included in tuition costs. You must also have a professional CPR certification to complete the course. You can obtain this yourself, or take our course for $75, which is built into the course schedule. All of our EMT classes include the required NH Scope of Practice Modules.
